Susan has been in the financial services business since 1984, and is currently a Divisional Executive Vice President for AXA Advisors, LLC and manager of the company’s New York Metro Branch. But Susan wasn’t always in financial services.

She started her professional career as a school teacher, teaching kindergarten, and made the switch to financial services in 1984. Although Susan is the first to tell you that chasing a classroom of five year olds in a romper room environment is extremely challenging – she was looking for more. She was craving a more competitive environment that would allow her to maximize her best talents.

Susan was referred to the company over 20 years ago by someone who thought her background was ideal for the business –strong communication and presentation skills; the ability to create lasting relationships; and passion about helping people. Taking the skills she developed as a teacher, she now educates people to make smart financial decisions, and other advisors on how to educate people about their financial options. 

Early on, she was partnered with others who had complementary skills who could make up for the gaps in her knowledge as she learned the financial side of the business.  But Susan was a fast learner.  At the end of her first full year in the business, she ranked in the top 2% of AXA Advisors financial professionals nationwide.  In the next several years, she strengthened her knowledge foundation, earning the industry’s Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant designations.  She later became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL  PLANNER^TM. 

In 1994, Susan started her career in management. Today, she supervises over 450 Financial Professionals and staff.  Her focus is still on recruiting individuals to become financial professionals for the company, and then training and helping them develop their careers once their on board. 

Achieving professional and personal success are both equally important to Susan, which is another reason why her career as a financial professional has been a fulfilling one. She says this career has allowed her to excel as a professional and have the flexibility to have a wonderful family life as well. She is intellectually challenged every day and still loves what she does after 21 years in the business.
