Georgianna Latino possesses a spirit that drives her to want to exceed any challenge. While her motivation has expanded since her pageant days, the former Miss North Texas State remains in the spotlight. Now a VP of AXA’s New Orleans Southern Region branch and a chairperson on various boards, Georgianna is also an effective activist who leverages her role within the community to raise awareness on a variety of issues.

Raised by her mother, Tina – a single parent who fought a lifelong battle with Crohn’s disease – Georgianna acquired many insights. One was the gift of empathy, which has facilitated her success by enabling her to relate to many clients. Another is her passion. After her mother’s time in hospice, Georgianna got involved by serving on the board of the hospice where her mother spent her last days, and by starring in a public access program to raise awareness on hospice care.

Georgianna's father George also played a vital role in her life. Throughout her childhood, he provided support for Georgianna and her mother, and as a successful proprietor he’s been Georgianna’s mentor in business since the get-go. Georgianna is currently in the process of partnering a silk-screening business George owns with Covenant House, the largest privately-funded childcare agency in the U.S.

Georgianna’s involvement with Covenant House was inspired by her son Benjamin, who is bipolar. At Covenant House, many of the children bear similar problems, and through Georgianna’s experience, she knew how difficult it was for even a caring and concerned parent to help. After Hurricane Katrina struck her hometown of New Orleans, Covenant House was in need of even more help, as many businesses providing jobs for older kids were destroyed. So through her father’s business, Georgianna will be able to provide opportunities for those whose lives were shattered by Hurricane Katrina.
