Lanting “Maggie” Li always believed that if she put her clients first, success would follow.  

Trained as a geologist in China, Maggie didn’t think that her career path would lead her to the insurance industry. However, she found that it was her strong engineering background that attracted her to AXA Advisors, LLC. Maggie was impressed with the company’s comprehensive financial planning process, and the professionalism of its financial professionals when working with clients to help them define their financial goals and create strategies to help them achieve their objectives.  

In the beginning, as a new immigrant to the United States in the country for just three years, Maggie faced a major hurdle to success – a lack of local connections. She realized that in order to overcome this hurdle, she had to attract clients by being knowledgeable about all the financial products and services offered by AXA Advisors – and she quickly became one. AXA Advisors’ offers extensive training and development programs on everything from how to prospect and develop a marketing plan, to the intricate details of complicated financial products.

Driven by a desire to help other people, Maggie began to reap the rewards of a growing and successful financial services practice. In 1996, after just two years in the business, she was promoted to divisional vice president and district manager. In addition to working with clients, she was given the added responsibility of recruiting new financial professionals into the business, and helping them to develop their own knowledge and financial services practice. Recognized for her achievements in management, Maggie has won numerous honors including the company’s National Builder’s Trophy and Development Leadership Award – both in recognition of her ability to recruit, train and develop other financial professionals.

In 2003, Maggie was promoted to branch manager and divisional executive vice president in San Gabriel Valley, California. She considers the financial professionals her clients as well. She is generous in sharing her knowledge and experience with other professionals, to help them grow in their own careers. It is this generous spirit and willingness to help others that have made Maggie a successful financial professional, manager and mentor.

Maggie Li earned a Master’s degree in economic statistics from the Management School of Wuhan University, China; and a Master’s degree in economics from the University of Connecticut, where she is currently a Ph.D candidate. She holds the Chartered Life Underwriter (ChFC) and d Advanced Estate Planner (AEP) professional designations.
