AXA FINANCIAL, INC. SELECTS NEW HEAD OF INTERNAL AUDIT

New York, NY, Oct. 2, 2007 - AXA Financial, Inc. has selected Andrew Raftis as its new Senior Vice President of Internal Audit. He was most recently Senior Vice President of Audit Coordination and Control as well as Group Sarbanes Oxley 404 Project Leader for the global AXA Group, AXA Financial's parent company and a worldwide leader in financial protection and wealth management. The announcement was made today by Richard Dziadzio, the Chief Financial Officer of AXA Financial.

Mr. Raftis assumes his new responsibilities due to the retirement of Paul Flora, a 13-year veteran of AXA Financial's Internal Audit department. Mr. Raftis reports to Peter Tobin, Chairman of the Audit Committee of the AXA Financial Board of Directors.

"Considering Andrew's 18-year history with AXA Group and his extensive global experience in business-critical areas such as corporate governance, finance control, risk management, and compliance, he is a welcome addition to this department," said Mr. Dziadzio.

Mr. Raftis joined AXA Group in 1989. For the past five years, he has worked with the company's Group Audit department in Paris. Prior to that, he was in charge of Business Risk, Audit and Compliance for the Asian and Australian operation of AXA Asia Pacific in Melbourne, Australia. He also managed projects, such as the Y2K project, in Asia and Australia.

From 1993 to 1998, Mr. Raftis was Group Compliance Manager of National Mutual Holdings. From 1989 to 1993, he was a corporate lawyer with National Mutual Life Association and, for the three years prior to that, he was a lawyer with a major law firm, all in Melbourne.

Mr. Raftis holds a Bachelor of Law degree as well as a Bachelor of Commerce degree in economics and business administration, both from Melbourne University. He also holds a post-graduate degree in commercial law from Monash University in Melbourne.

Today, Mr. Raftis resides in the Westchester County town of Tarrytown, N.Y. He has a wife and three children and he is an avid skier.
