How do I use the Watchlist Minibrowser?
|
|
|
The Watchlist Minibrowser is a Smart Money tool used to track the daily performance of specific securities. The Watchlist allows you to easily track pricing and volume on a desired set of securities with data updated every 15 minutes. This tool organizes securities into a tabular display, which uses color to distinguish the gainers and decliners. In this layout, green (or yellow in the alternate color scheme) indicates that the price is up, while red (or blue in the alternate color scheme) indicates that the price is down. With the Watchlist, you can track the following performance values: current price, price change since last closing, and percent change since last closing.
The Watchlist tracks a default set of securities. However, you can delete these securities and add your own set. With the customization capabilities of the Watchlist, you can change the table color scheme, refresh the screen for updated data, and sort data in ascending or descending order based on the contents of a column. In addition, you can set alerts for pricing and volume by specifying a desired target, thus enabling you to act on recent changes in the market.
- To delete a security, click the desired ticker symbol in the table and select "Remove Symbol" from the pop-up menu.
- To add a security, click the "Add" button at the bottom of the table. In the text box that appears, enter the desired ticker symbol and press "Enter". You can also scroll to the end of the table to access the text box.
- To sort data, click the heading cell of the column by which you would like to sort. The content order changes to its alternate option.
- To set a target, click on the corresponding cell and enter the desired value in the text box that appears. When a security reaches the specified target, a small circle image appears in the table cell to indicate that the desired price or volume has been reached.
- To change the color scheme of the table, use the drop-down list on the lower-right corner of the screen to make your selection.
